Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShiftSwap website and mobile application at getshiftswap.com (the "Service"), operated by ShiftSwap ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What ShiftSwap does
ShiftSwap is a peer-to-peer marketplace that lets hourly workers post work shifts they need covered, optionally offer a bounty, and let teammates claim those shifts, subject to manager approval where required. ShiftSwap facilitates coordination and payment processing; we are not an employer, staffing agency, or party to any work arrangement between users.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You must provide accurate account and workplace information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly update information that changes. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You may sign up with an email and password or through Google sign-in.
3. Workplace membership
Access to a store's shift feed requires a valid store code. Managers may register new stores and are responsible for sharing store codes only with authorized team members. We may remove members or stores that misuse the Service.
4. Shift listings, claims, and approvals
Workers are responsible for the accuracy of the shifts and bounty amounts they post. A claimed shift is not final until any required manager approval is complete. Posting a shift on ShiftSwap does not guarantee coverage, and claiming a shift does not guarantee approval. Users remain responsible for their work obligations under their employer's policies.
5. Payments, bounties, and fees
When you post a shift with a bounty, the bounty amount and the platform fee are disclosed before you pay. Payments are processed by PayPal (including Venmo where available) and held in escrow. When a shift is completed and approved, the bounty is paid out to the covering worker's PayPal account. Payment availability, timing, disputes, and refunds may depend on the payment provider's terms and workplace rules. You must provide an accurate PayPal email address to receive payouts.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your workplace or role.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent shifts or bounties.
- Use the Service to bypass workplace scheduling policies or applicable law.
- Misuse another user's personal information.
- Interfere with, probe, or disrupt the Service or its security.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use and share it.
8. Service availability and changes
The Service may change, be suspended, or become temporarily unavailable at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee that any shift will be claimed, approved, or completed.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShiftSwap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost wages, missed shifts, or disputes between users or between users and their employers arising from use of the Service.
10. Ending your account
You may permanently delete your account at any time from the account menu. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse payments, or threaten the safety of other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment records and liability limits) survive.
